Аннотация

Political leadership plays a transformative role in advancing gender equity within national workplaces through policy formulation, institutional reform, and cultural transformation. This chapter examines the critical relationship between political leadership representation and workplace gender equity outcomes, analyzing data from 148 countries spanning 2021-2025. Evidence demonstrates that countries with higher female political representation (above 30% parliamentary seats) achieve 23% better workplace gender equity outcomes compared to nations below this threshold. The research reveals that as of 2025, women hold only 27.2% of parliamentary seats globally and 22.9% of ministerial positions, with political empowerment closing merely 22.9% of the gender gap. However, countries implementing legislative quotas demonstrate 5-7 percentage points higher female representation, directly correlating with progressive labor policies including pay transparency and parental leave reforms.
