Digital Assurance Ecosystems

The high pace of digitalization of higher education has changed the quality assurance to a standard data-based institutional process instead of a long-term and compliance-based process. The chapter focuses on the digital assurance systems based on artificial intelligence, analytics, and integrated platforms as the means to facilitate the continuous quality improvement within the higher education sector. It discusses the role of AI-driven dashboards, learning analytics, predicting models, and feedback loops in the process of coming up with good decisions in the areas of teaching, learning, governance, and accreditation. Quality by Design is highlighted in which quality is actively incorporated by tracking on time, detection of risks at early stages, and remedies. It discusses the stakeholder involvement, institutional benefits, ethical issues, and case studies of AI-based quality monitoring and student success management in the near past, and hence digital platforms would be the solution providers of quality assurance systems in the future.
