Аннотация

This chapter explores the use of AI-driven smart tourism in literary destination development in the digital era. It focuses on the potential of literature and the ways in which AI, literature recommender systems, chatbots, virtual guides, augmented reality, and digital storytelling platforms can enrich literary tourism experiences by offering a means to engage visitors with writers, literature, fictional environments, historical context, and cultural memory. The chapter emphasizes the potential of AI to enhance visitor experience, tailor literature experiences, bolster cultural branding, and propel destination sustainability. It also addresses issues of ethics regarding privacy, authenticity, digital exclusion, and over-commercialization. The chapter offers a responsible pathway that would combine the technological development with community engagement, the preservation of the heritage, and the development of the literary destination.
