Аннотация

This paper proposes an application for Electrostatic Discharge Algorithm (ESDA), as a recent and efficient optimization algorithm for finding the optimal distributed generation (DG) allocation. Several objective functions; minimizing power loss and improving voltage stability index (VSI) are achieved. Also, Loss Sensitivity Factor (LSF) is used to accelerate the determination process of optimal DG locations. The developed algorithm is tested on the standard 69-bus system. The performance of developed algorithm is compared with that of other well-known optimization techniques. The highest power loss reduction and VSI improvement of 69-bus system are achieved at the optimum size and location of the wind-based DG units, due to its ability to generate reactive power. The results confirm that the developed algorithm is computationally efficient, reliable and capable of solving the optimal DG allocation problem.
