Аннотация

Recently, most power system planners are interested to integrate distributed generation (DG) in distribution system to meet the exponential growth in load demand. Integration of DG in distribution system is very important to increase the system capacity through reducing the total power drawn from the electric grid. In this paper, chaotic grasshopper optimization algorithm is used to obtain the optimal locations and sizes of P-type and PQ-type based DG units under variable loads in radial distribution system (RDS). The efficiency of the developed technique is tested on IEEE 33bus RDS. From simulation results, it's observed that integration of PQ-type gives better results than integration of P-type in RDS. However, the developed technique is more efficient to obtain the best results when compared with other techniques.
