Three-phase pole-changing winding for asynchronous machines on the fan drive

Requirement for pole-changing motors emerged at the very early times of asynchronous motor design. The paper presents a new double layer three phase 4/6 pole-changing winding, with 36 slots and 6 terminals with YYY/YYY switching circuit. An experimental motor equipped with the new winding was built on a 4-pole base and frame 80 (1.1/0.7 kW) and tested. The analysis of the electric motor was carried out using the ANSYS/Maxwell software program. Measurements on a prototype of the machine show that the required performance for the use as a fan drive is achieved properly.
