Data and code for "Weak but spatially widespread greening in semi-arid foothill rangelands of eastern Uzbekistan: evidence from a 36-year Landsat EVI2 record"

This dataset accompanies the manuscript “Weak but spatially widespread greening in semi-arid foothill rangelands of eastern Uzbekistan: evidence from a 36-year Landsat EVI2 record”. The repository contains annual spring EVI2 data for the Chust–Pop and Turakurgan foothill rangelands in Namangan Region, Uzbekistan, climate data derived from TerraClimate, spatial aggregation results at 30, 90, 300, and 900 m resolutions, temporal-coverage information, spatial trend rasters, and the R and Google Earth Engine scripts used in the analyses. The study covers the period 1989–2024. No valid spring EVI2 observation was available for Chust–Pop in 1990. Raw Landsat, ESA WorldCover, and TerraClimate datasets are not redistributed because they are publicly available from their original providers.
