Measures to reduce dusting during loading and transportation of solid mineral resources
Аннотация
The relevance of the work is governed by the need to ensure dust and explosion safety in mines, as well as labor and environmental protection. Moreover, the solution to the problem of coal dusting is dictated not only by the environmental aspects of the functioning of mines, but to a greater extent by ensuring the safety of the population living in the immediate vicinity of the places of coal storage and handling. This article reviews the air dedusting methods during loading and transport works in surface and underground mines. The environmental impact of coal handling port terminals is described, and the main sources of dusting in the terminals are listed. Recommendations are made for improving the quality of atmospheric air in the terminals, which include spraying of rock mass, shelter for places of intensive dust formation, dust extraction from the shelters with subsequent dust collection. As a result, to increase the efficiency of spraying and dust suppression, surfactants should be added to the working fluid. It has been established that evaporation from coal powder moistened with Neolas wetting solution is 1.3 times slower than evaporation from carbon powder moistened with clean water. At the same time, evaporation from moistened coal powder, both with water and wetting agent, is 1.6 times slower than the evaporation of pure water and pure wetting agent. The optimal concentrations of surfactants for dust control are indicated.
