The Nucleon-Nucleon Interaction

The experimental situation with regard to the nucleon-nucleon interaction is reviewed. Many of the results discussed are not yet published and were presented at the recent Second International Conference on the Nucleon-Nucleon Interaction, held in Vancouver, June 27–30, 1977. The new experimental data which are now available, have let to two dramatic improvements in ow knowledge. First there are the proton-proton results from the ZGS from which a unique amplitude analysis has been obtained at 6 GeV/c ; secondly there are the 325 MeV results from TRIUMF of the triple scattering parameters in neutron-proton scattering, and these now provide a basis for a unique set of phase-shifts.
