Second and Third Ordinary and Dielectric Virial Coefficients for Nonpolar Axial Molecules

In a previous publication, expressions for the second and third dielectric and ordinary virial coefficients of nonpolar axial molecules possessing permanent quadrupole moments and anisotropic polarizabilities were derived. The results are given in terms of several single and triple integrals which depend only upon the ``nonelectrical'' part of the intermolecular potential, e.g., the dispersion-force attraction plus the short-range overlap-force repulsion. These integrals have been evaluated numerically and tabulated for the Lennard-Jones (6–9), (6–12), and (6–15) potentials, and analytic values have been obtained for the hard-sphere potential. Comparisons with experiments will be made in succeeding publications.
