Focused ejection from ion-bombarded Au {110}

Аннотация

Abstract Time-of-flight spectra, d 2S/dt dΩ versus t, of gold atoms sputtered along 〈110〉 from Au {110} under bombardment with 20 keV Ar+ are presented. These are compared with spectra for oblique 〈110〉 ejection from the Au {100} surface and theories of focused ejection published recently (Reid, Thompson and Farmery 1980). In this case of normal ejection the theory may be tested in its simplest form.
