Аннотация

As formulated by Fixman and by Kawasaki and Tanaka, the theory for sound propagation near a consolute critical point is inconsistent with the Wheeler and Griffiths thermodynamic bounds. A modification of the original version of the theory is proposed to avoid this difficulty. Sound propagation in binary mixtures is discussed in detail including special critical points such as critical azeotropy. Formulas for sound absorption and dispersion are also given for a multicomponent system in the general case. We found that, increasing the number of components, the magnitude of critical sound absorption and dispersion should decrease.
