Аннотация

Electron-ion recoil vector correlations in dissociative ${5a}_{1}^{\ensuremath{-}1}$ photoionization of ${\mathrm{CF}}_{3}\mathrm{I}$ are examined with a photoelectron-photoion coincidence imaging technique and fixed-molecule photoionization calculations. The ${\mathrm{CF}}_{3}^{+}$ dissociation channel results are readily interpreted as molecule-frame photoelectron angular distributions from, effectively, oriented parent molecules. The competing ${\mathrm{I}}^{+}$ fragmentation channel distributions, while similar at higher ionization energies, deviate nearer to the ${\mathrm{I}}^{+}$ dissociation threshold, revealing nontrivial (non-axial-recoil) ion fragmentation dynamics in this region.
