Instability of plastic flow in superconductors

We have studied the process of localized plastic deformation of superconductors; criteria have been found for plastic flow instability (stepwise flow) of crystals containing dislocations surmounting barriers by a thermal fluctuation mechanism. It is shown that, depending on the parameters of the superconducting transition at temperatures T < Tc, the unstable plastic flow stress in the crystals in the superconducting and normal phases have one or two intersection points (or none).
