LIVER ENZYME PATTERN IN THYROTOXICOSIS

In spite of our rapidly growing knowledge of cell metabolism the nature and manner of its hormonal control is still largely unknown. The thyroid hormones are known to increase the oxygen consumption of many, though not all tissues, but neither the mechanism by which this effect is brought about nor the way in which all manifestations of the clinical hyperthyroid state are produced have so far been elucidated.
