THE ISSUE ON IMPLEMENTING THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS ON CERTAIN CATEGORIES OF CONVICTS IN UZBEKISTAN

The article is devoted to the study of some problematic aspects of the development and improvement of the conditions of detention of certain categories of convicts in the Republic of Uzbekistan. During the study, the problematic aspects of the implementation of recommendations of universally recognized international standards in relation to certain categories of convicts were identified. In particular, the article deals with such categories of convicts as women and girls, as well as persons with various diseases. The author considers some theoretical and practical issues of improving the penitentiary system of Uzbekistan, promising areas in the political, legal and socio-economic aspects. In order to develop promising directions for improving the state’s penitentiary policy, the norms of international standards regarding the conditions of detention of women prisoners, in particular, with young children, were studied. Based on the experience learned, the author concludes that changes in the penal policy are necessary.
