The velocity of 14-Mc/sec sound in liquid ${\mathrm{He}}^{3}$ was measured at pressures up to 9 atmospheres in the temperature range 1.2\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}K to 3.2\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}K. A few measurements were also made in the gas just above the critical temperature. A possible phonon contribution to the thermal coefficient of expansion of the liquid is discussed.
