Аннотация

The adiabatic elastic constants of cadmium single crystals have been measured by an ultrasonic pulse technique. The values extrapolated to 0\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}K are: ${c}_{11}=13.08$, ${c}_{33}=5.737$, ${c}_{44}=2.449$, ${c}_{12}=4.048$, ${c}_{13}=4.145$ in units of ${10}^{11}$ dynes/${\mathrm{cm}}^{2}$. A Debye characteristic temperature, ${\ensuremath{\theta}}_{0}$, of 213\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}1\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}K has been calculated from these 0\ifmmode^\circ\else\textdegree\fi{}K elastic constants. The temperature dependence of the linear compressibilities, ${K}_{\mathrm{II}}$ and ${K}_{\ensuremath{\perp}}$, has also been calculated.
