The Electrodes Positioning Control System for the Electric Arc Furnace Basing on Fuzzy Logic

The expediency of using the fuzzy logic principles to improve the dynamics of the electric arc furnace (EAF) electrodes positioning control is substantiated. The analysis of the electric mode (EM) control laws is carried out and the model of phase-asymmetric law based on the fuzzy logic principles is proposed. We have developed the structural scheme for its realization and performed the synthesis. A three-phase instantaneous coordinates computer model of the EAF EM control system was compiled using the proposed fuzzy law. We have performed a study of the control dynamics under the influence of phase-asymmetric deterministic and stationary random perturbations by arc lengths. The analysis of the research results demonstrated that the use of the proposed fuzzy law improves the indices of deterministic and random perturbations handling in comparison with the known differential law.
