Аннотация

In the context of global environmental challenges, scientific research on environmental protection increasingly relies on international cooperation and access to global scientific knowledge. English has become the dominant language of environmental science, serving as the primary medium for academic publications, international conferences, and environmental policy documents. This article examines the importance of English ecological terminology in the scientific study of environmental problems and environmental protection. Drawing on interdisciplinary perspectives from environmental science, applied linguistics, and English for Specific Purposes (ESP), the study analyzes how mastery of ecological terminology in English enhances scientific literacy, research accuracy, and professional communication. Using a qualitative theoretical approach, the paper proposes an integrated framework for developing ecological terminological competence in English among students and researchers. The findings highlight that knowledge of English ecological terminology is essential for effective participation in global environmental discourse and for addressing contemporary ecological challenges.
