ARTISTIC IMAGERY AND STYLISTIC DEVICES IN THE WORKS OF MARK TWAIN AND O'TKIR HOSHIMOV

This article explores the nature, functions, and artistic value of figurative devices in literature, emphasizing how writers use imagery to create emotional depth and convey complex ideas. Through a comparative analysis of selected works by Mark Twain and O‘tkir Hoshimov, the study examines the role of metaphor, simile, personification, hyperbole, and symbolic description in shaping narrative meaning. Mark Twain’s vivid, humorous, and socially critical depictions demonstrate how figurative language enhances irony and strengthens thematic expression. Meanwhile, O‘tkir Hoshimov’s emotionally rich and morally grounded prose reveals how expressive imagery can reflect everyday human struggles, cultural values, and psychological nuances. The article concludes that artistic imagery is not merely a decorative element but a powerful literary tool that deepens characterization, clarifies authorial intention, and enriches the reader’s interpretive experience.
