THE PROBLEM OF BOUNDARIES BETWEEN SIMPLE, COMPLEX, AND COMPLEX SENTENCES IN MODERN RUSSIAN

This paper examines the distinction between simple, complex, and compound sentences in modern Russian. Particular attention is paid to the criteria for this distinction, controversial syntactic constructions, and trends in the development of the syntactic system. The features that lead to the confusion of the boundaries between the three types of constructions are identified.
