Klein aber oho: TiO2(B) wurde mit der kleinsten bislang erreichten Partikelgröße (2.5×4.3 nm) synthetisiert (siehe TEM-Bild). Die Kapazitätsdichte des Materials für die Speicherung von Lithium – und folglich von Ladung – als Anode in einer Lithiumionenbatterie ist höher als die irgendeines anderen Titanats (>1000 mA g−1).
