The proliferation of digital collaboration tools in education promises to transform traditional classrooms into dynamic, interactive learning communities. However, the mere presence of technology does not guarantee effective collaboration or enhanced learning outcomes. This paper examines the critical intersection between digital collaboration tools and student motivation, arguing that motivation serves as the essential mediator that determines whether technology fosters superficial interaction or deep, meaningful co-construction of knowledge.
