Аннотация

The overarching aim of this paper is to investigate the role of English language teaching in developing students’ socio-cultural competence and to analyze the impact of motivation in this process. In the modern educational environment, language learning is not limited to grammar and vocabulary acquisition; it also involves understanding cultural norms, values, and communication patterns of the target language community. The study examines theoretical foundations of socio-cultural competence, motivational factors influencing learners, and empirical results obtained through experimental teaching. The findings demonstrate that integrating socio-cultural content and motivational strategies into English language instruction significantly enhances students’ communicative competence and intercultural awareness.
