Аннотация

This article investigates the distinctive methods through which Dan Brown's literary discourse employs linguistic symbolism to construct and convey meaning, particularly concerning historical, religious, and conspiratorial themes. We contend that Brown strategically utilizes specific lexical, syntactic, and narrative devices to imbue objects, characters, and events with symbolic significance, thereby guiding the reader's interpretation and fostering engagement with complex, often esoteric, concepts. Drawing upon theories from literary semiotics, cognitive linguistics, and narratology, this study explores how the author's choice of descriptive language, metaphorical constructs, intertextual allusions, and specific narrative framing mechanisms encode symbolic layers within his fast-paced thrillers. Through detailed textual analysis of illustrative excerpts from Brown's novels, we delineate the techniques by which these linguistic symbols function to establish intricate connections, heighten suspense, and create a sense of hidden knowledge. The insights presented illuminate the systematic nature of symbolic communication in his works, offering a refined understanding for literary scholars, popular fiction critics, and those interested in the cognitive processes involved in deciphering complex narrative structures
