An analysis is presented for the energy spectrum ϵn for a Bloch electron in a magnetic field in the quasiclassical approximation (n≫1) with an accuracy of up to quantities of order 1/n inclusive. The formulas have been used to calculate the contribution to the magnetic susceptibility of a metal from electrons on special trajectories. Anomalies in the magnetic susceptibility due to a change in the topology of the Fermi surface have been examined; it is shown that they are substantially dependent on the nature of the changes in the Fermi surface topology.
