Аннотация
The resonant behavior of the magnetoresistance has been examined for metals with small bands of carriers, in which interband magnetic breakdown produces linear chains of open orbits. It is found that the presence of peaks is due to the reduction in effectiveness of small-angle processes. A detailed study has been made of the case where the main cause of small-angle scattering is collisions with phonons. Expressions are derived for the conductivity, from which it follows that the resonant form of the oscillations becomes sinusoidal at very high fields.
