Аннотация

A simple scheme is suggested for constructing exciton states of intermediate radius rs in rare gas crystals. The applicability condition of this approach is a small band width in comparison with binding energies of valence electrons. The states of an atom placed in the crystal field are used as the zeroth approximation. In the limiting cases of small and large rs the dispersion law obtained here reduces to the dispersion laws of Frenkel and hole excitons. A suitable interpolation formula is suggested.
