Pulsed NMR has been used to examine the diffusion and magnetic relaxation of gaseous He3 at 1–20 °K. The diffusion coefficient has been measured at constant volume and pressure for pressures between 5 and 30 atm and densities from 2.2 × 10−3 to 10 −1 g/cm3. It is shown that the behavior of the spin-diffusion coefficient for gaseous He3 is described satisfactorily within the framework of the gas-kinetic model. The spin-lattice relaxation times T1 in the gaseous state have been used to examine the contributions from various spin-lattice relaxation mechanisms and to estimate the inherent relaxation times T10.
