The magnetic susceptibility of the heavy-fermion compound U2Zn17 is measured in magnetic fields 0.5 mT–1 T in the temperature range 1.7–300 K. The values of the parameters of the modified Curie–Weiss law, which is obeyed by the susceptibility at T ≥ 40 K, are refined. There is no temperature independent contribution, and the effective magnetic moment of a U ion is equal to 3.2±0.05 μB. No traces are observed of the superconductivity caused by deviations from stoichiometry and the existence of accompanying phases. The known low-temperature characteristic features of the susceptibility can be attributed to antiferromagnetic ordering in U2Zn17 at T ≃ 10 K.
