Takahashi’s approach for describing one- and two-dimensional magnetic systems is extended with the help of the random-phase approximation. The theory developed makes it possible to describe analytically the behavior of low-dimensional ferro- and antiferromagnets at all temperatures. The results are compared with other approximations.
