This article is focused on the geopolitical views of the renowned German scientist, Friedrich Ratzel. The author explores the core principles of Ratzel’s geopolitical doctrine, emphasizing its foundation on the concept of organicism, where the state is viewed as a living organism intrinsically connected to its territory. The study analyzes how Ratzel’s ideas link the growth and development of states to geographic space, population, and natural resources, and discusses the relevance of his theories for understanding the spatial and political dynamics of states. Additionally, the article highlights the enduring influence of Ratzel’s concepts on contemporary geopolitical thought and the study of political geography.
