Increasing the role of alternative and renewable energy sources in the energy strategy of the United States

The paper describes briefly the energy initiatives of President George Bush that underlay the National Energy Policy of America and the Energy Bill that was adopted in 2006. Since 2001, America has allocated nearly 10 billion dollars to develop ecologically clean and reliable energy sources. It is noted that large investments will be directed to the development of clean coal technologies with zero emission of harmful substances, revolutionary solar and wind technologies, and safe nuclear energy.
