Analysis of the relationship between the serum CA125 and clinical staging of the patients with fallopian tube carcinoma

Objective To investigate the relationship between the serum cancer antigen(CA) 125 and the clinical stage of the patients of fallopian tube carcinoma.Methods From December 1989 to June 2010 in our hospital with tubal cancer patients,31 cases(tubal cancer group) were chosed,they were proven by clinical and pathologic evidence,according to the clinical stage of FIGO standards: phase Ⅰ stage of 4 cases,Ⅱ period of 11 cases,Ⅲ period of 14 cases,Ⅳ period in 2 cases.Our healthy check-up female 50 period were selected as an example for the healthy controls,using CLIA to detect the serum CA125 level,compare two sets of serum CA125 inspection results.Results Compared with the values of the patients of healthy persons,the values of serum CA125 in the patients of benign ovarian tumor and were obviously higher(P0.01).In ovarian carcinoma cases serum CA125 level and tumor staging showed positive correlation.When stage rised,CA125 level rised.The CA125 levels had significant differences between the different stage of fallopian tube carcinoma(P0.01).Conclusion The CA125 level of the fallopian tube carcinoma and its clinical staging show positive correlation.CA125 is a useful marker of fallopian tube carcinoma.It has important clinical values for recurrence and metastasis of the tumor to monitor the serum CA125 level.
