Genetic Gain of Analysis on Half-Sib Progenies of Larix olgensis

Using 24-years-old half-sib progenies of Larix olgensis stand as materials,growth factors such as diameter at breast height(DBH),tree height,and timber volume were measured.The results showed that there were significant differences of growth factors measured among different half-sib progenies,indicating that there were abundant genetic variation among half-sib progenies family and potentials for selection.The heritability of DBH,height and timber volume of 24 years old Larix olgensis stand were 0.6808,0.7178and 0.7606,respectively.According to the heritability value,height,timber volume and DBH could be used as selection indexes.Using 25% as selection ratio,4 superior half-sib progenies families could be selected with genetic gains of height,DBH and timber volume were 5.26%,8.32% and 19.83%,respectively.
