Аннотация
Abstract This chapter recounts a boating excursion through a river, during which the author would hear a song by chance, and feel the tender sentiments therein inspire in him a longing to search and understand the source of the music, as well as to “hide” from them. Flanking his journeys are the vast, natural mercies of the mountain and the sea—both of which could, as the author is well aware, crush him with the overwhelming force of nature. Yet the author finds not only peace in this regard, but also a sense of direction, as his wanderings across the water eventually take him to safety, leaving him with only a sense of humility—to hide oneself within a place of such profundity.
