Abstract Selective methods and a highly sensitive automatic semiconductor gas analyzer VG-NH 3 have been developed for detecting ammonia in a mixture of toxic, flammable and explosive gases. The basic metrological and operational characteristics of the developed selective automatic ammonia analyzer are estimated. These devices allow determining ammonia in a wide range of its concentrations and have the best metrological and operational characteristics that meet the requirements of the GOST (National State Standard).
