Аннотация

Fiber-Optics networks are high capacity systems that meet quickly developing a request for transmission capacity within the developing Telecommunication industry. However, there are a few impedance components that hinder the optimal effectiveness of Fiber-Optics Innovation. The broadening of light pulses, called dispersion, may be a primary factor is limiting the quality of flag transmission over optical links. Dispersion could be a result of the physical properties of the transmission medium. Single-mode filaments, utilized in high-speed optical systems, are subject to Chromatic Dispersion (CD) that causes beat broadening depending on wavelength. This paper centres on analyzing Chromatic Dispersion induced penalties within the transmission link. In addition, it presents an analysis of Chromatic Dispersion Compensation (CDC) technique in a 10 Gb/s Fiber-Optic transmission link by simulating the effects of CD using OptSim virtual instrument. The performance analysis is described in terms of the received transmission power, the estimated bit error ratio (BER) and the Q-factor are observed from the eve diagrams.
