THE GRAND DUKE NIKOLAI KONSTANTINOVICH ROMANOV: FAMOUS AND UNKNOWN PAGES OF HIS BIOGRAPHY

Resume: In this article, based on the study of domestic and foreign publications, archival materials and previously unpublished memoirs, an attempt is made to reveal previously unknown pages of the biography of Grand Duke Konstantin Romanov (1850-1918), to interpret them through the prism of well-known facts \n\n\nThe article highlights the autobiography of the Grand Duke, his contribution to the history of Turkestan, namely the irrigation of the Hungry Steppe, the creation of a new canal, and the formation of Russian settlements.\n\n\nTaking into account all the relevance of the problem, the author also tried to highlight the issues of vivid examples of mutual assistance, respectful attitude, friendship and tolerance of the Russian and Uzbek peoples.\n\n\n
