Аннотация

Abstract: At present, there is a steady trend towards an increase in the incidence and prevalence of diabetes mellitus all over the world, which allows a number of researchers to speak of a “global epidemic of the disease”. The high prevalence and development of serious complications of diabetes, with the further disability of children and adolescents, is an urgent problem for public health throughout the world.\n\n One of the first complications of diabetes are structural and functional changes in the brain, which are based on the formation of cognitive impairments, which in turn worsens the quality of life of patients and negatively affects compensation for the disease. Today, early diagnosis of these disorders is permissible using modern technologies of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), which can show a picture of not only structural changes in the brain, but also disorders of the metabolism of nervous tissue in dynamics. The study and detailed analysis of the development of cerebral structural and metabolic pathologies against the background of diabetes mellitus is one of the essential tasks of medical science.
