Physiological changes in the body with hypo- and hyperfunction of the thyroid gland in an experimental study
Аннотация
Among modern medical and social problems, one of the most urgent is the pathology of the thyroid gland. This is due to the fact that the total frequency of various forms of this pathology, even outside the zones of goiter endemia, is at least 20% of the total incidence. In regions endemic for goiter, where approximately 1/3 of the human population lives, this figure often exceeds.\n\nThe epidemiology of thyroid diseases depends on many factors and conditions: geochemical, demographic, social, environmental, climatic, etc. The iodine intake affects the frequency of thyroid pathology to the greatest extent. The disease mainly affects people of working age from 20 to 40 years, mostly women. Thyroid hormones are necessary for the normal growth and development of the body, they regulate the differentiation of organs and tissues, their maturation and maintenance of metabolism. In this regard, the restoration of the functional activity of the thyroid gland is an indispensable condition for the success of the complex therapy of various pathological conditions.\n\nIt should be noted that the therapeutic tactics of thyroid diseases over the past 10-15 years has not changed noticeably, and the arsenal of effective drugs intended for the treatment and prevention of this pathology is clearly insufficient. The drugs used often do not have sufficient clinical efficacy and with long-term use give side effects. In this regard, the significant interest of researchers in the search for new drugs that can prevent and correct thyroid dysfunction is justified.
