The article is devoted to one of the big problems not only in surgery, but also in medicine, hiatal hernia. A prospective analysis of etiopathogenesis, a diverse clinical picture, the effectiveness of various diagnostic and surgical methods of treatment of 104 patients with hiatal hernia, who were operated on in the departments of endoscopic surgery and in the department of Thoracoabdominal oncosurgery of the State Institution “RSSPMCS named after acad. V. Vakhidov”.
