FROM THE HISTORY OF LIBRARIES: PROBLEMS AND SOLUTIONS (1991-2016)

This article is devoted to the history of librarianship in Uzbekistan during the years of independence, where the author gives a scientific analysis of the activities of libraries. The role of libraries in social life, its importance in the education of young people is shown. Based on archival sources, the reasons for the passive work of libraries and the problem of staffing in them are described in detail. At the same time, from the point of view of the historian, the problems of the decline in visits to libraries by readers, and the reasons for this situation, are revealed and shown.
