TYPOLOGY OF SEMELFACTIVE VERBS

The article analyzes the structural and semantic features of semelfactive verbs in the English and Uzbek languages. In the process of analysis, the quantum values of the semelfactive verbs, the meanings related to the subject, the influence of lexical means on the emergence of multiple semantics are compared. The comparison of semelfactive verbs in English and Uzbek is explained by the identification of possibilities of broadening the lexical-semantic meanings of verb lexemes in these languages. In the Uzbek language, iterative meanings are present in the semantics of verb lexemes.
