Experimental Study of Micro-Hydropower Plants. Calculation of Water Wheel Efficiency

The article presents the results of experimental studies on a micro-hydro power plant (MHP) designed for low-pressure flows. Waveforms of changes in the shaft torque and rotation speed of the MHP water wheel are obtained. Based on the waveforms, curves of the considered parameters are constructed and analyzed. The energy conversion efficiency of the water wheel is determined.
