Innovative Mechanisms for Financing Agri-Food Exports: Case Study of the Republic of Uzbekistan
Аннотация
This study aims to identify and systematize effective mechanisms for financing agri-food exports, with a special focus on the Republic of Karakalpakstan. an autonomous republic within Uzbekistan. This study highlights that exporters in the region face persistent financial challenges, including limited access to export-oriented credit facilities, underdeveloped insurance mechanisms, and insufficient state subsidies. These barriers significantly reduce local producers' competitiveness in accessing international markets. This analysis emphasizes the urgent need to create innovative financing instruments that address the specific conditions of Karakalpakstan. such as water scarcity, soil degradation, and high logistical costs. Drawing on both local realities and selected international experiences, this study proposes tailored financial solutions including subsidized export loans, risk-sharing insurance schemes, and digital trade facilitation platforms. These findings provide practical recommendations for policymakers and stakeholders to enhance the efficiency, resilience, and sustainability of food exports from Karakalpakstan. thereby contributing to regional economic development and food security.
