Аннотация

In this study, a school corpus (Uzbek Primary School Corpus and Uzbek Basis Secondary School Corpus) for students in grades 1–6 is used to adapt the text to the grade level using the basis words specific to each grade. After that, the given text is compared with the basis words and expressed in an understandable form for the appropriate grade level. That is, the complex text is simplified and adapted for students in the corresponding grade. This method can be used in the preparation of educational materials for schoolchildren, in automatic text appropriation, or in teaching with the help of AI assistants. The results show that this study addressed the issue of adapting the provided text, based on 61 school textbooks approved by the Ministry of Preschool and School Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, to a grade-level-appropriate format. These results can be used in the preparation of materials for teachers and students in grades 1-6.
