Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPM) systems form the foundation of the pharmaceutical quality because they ensure compliance, product integrity, and safety of patients. The strategic CAPA integration revealed in this review pertains to the leadership accountability, digital transformation, and organizational culture. Systemic changes are needed in problems that are chronic such as ineffective root cause analysis, slow closure and half hearted correction actions. The effective CAPA links quality data, decision tools and corrections in-process and the leadership and good quality culture is important enablers. It is complemented by AI-powered prediction analytics, globalized CAPM standards, and culture-based performance indicators, making CAPM become more of a quality excellence and source of innovation throughout the lifecycle of the pharmaceutical industry.
