INTERDISTRICT PATTERNS OF SURGICAL INFECTIONS IN BUKHARA REGION: EPIDEMIOLOGY, RISK FACTORS AND CLINICAL IMPLICATIONS
Аннотация
Resume. Surgical site infections (SSIs) remain a major contributor to postoperative morbidity, prolonged hospitalization, and healthcare system burden globally. In Uzbekistan’s Bukhara region, interdistrict variability of SSIs has not been systematically analyzed, limiting evidence-based strategies for infection control. This retrospective study evaluated 2,436 postoperative cases across all Bukhara districts from 2020–2023 to identify epidemiological patterns, microbiological profiles, and key risk factors. Significant interdistrict disparities were observed, with rural districts demonstrating higher SSI incidence, whereas urban centers exhibited increased multidrug-resistant pathogen prevalence. Findings underscore the necessity for district-specific infection prevention protocols, targeted antimicrobial stewardship, and optimized resource allocation.
